Essen in den USA

Hallo!

Ich habe mir mal gedacht, einen Bericht über Essen in den USA zu schreiben da es da ja viele Vorurteile gibt. Essen in den USA ist nicht schlecht es ist nur anders. Es gibt hier viel mehr Fastfood Ketten und einer meiner Favoriten sind: In n out (gibt es aber glaube ich nur im Süd-Westen), Culvers, Panera Bread und Dairy Queen. Natürlich gibt es noch so viele mehr wie Freddys, Taco Bell, Cane's, Panda Express oder Dunkin Donuts. Es gibt hier jedenfalls viel mehr Auswahl... Ich persönlich habe hier kaum zugenommen, kenne aber andere ATS die sagen, dass sie mit dem Gewicht  zu kämpfen haben seid die hier sind. Es kommt aber immer auf dich als Person an. Ich finde das Essen hier total gut, obwohl ich deutsche Gerichte echt vermissender zum Beispiel Schnitzel oder ein schönes Vollkornbrot! Aber es ist ja nicht mehr so lange bis ich wieder in Deutschland bin und dann werde ich Amerikanische Gerichte vermissen. Bei meiner Gastfamilie ist es so, dass wir abends warm essen und dann aber auch schon ganz früh Abendessen gegen 17:30. am Anfang musste ich mich da erst mal dran gewöhnen da ich in Deutschland eher gegen 19:00 Abendesse. Naja. Ich kann es gar nicht glauben nur noch so wenige Tage zu haben... Circa 2-3 Monate! Krass.

Wie ist es ein Austauschschüler zu sein?

Hallo Ihr lieben. Ich dachte mal einen Post zu schreiben über wie man sich eigentlich als Austauschschüler(in) fühlt. Ein Austauschjahr zu machen ist wie eine lange Achterbahn... Es gibt Höhen und Tiefen, Momente voller Freude und Begeisterung und dann wieder Momente wo man sich nur denkt: was mache ich hier eigentlich. In einem fremden Land? Die erste Zeit des Austausches ist einer der Schwierigsten. Man kennt die Sprache noch nicht 100 Prozent und hat Zweifel und kennt seine "Freunde" noch nicht so gut. Aber dann nach circa 5 Monaten gibt es einfach tolle Momente. Man hat sich eingelebt, kennt die Sprache fließend und und und. Aber letztendlich bleibt man immer nur "der Austauschschüler der bald wieder geht" und es wird immer Ups and downs geben .. :-)

Spring break, 91 days left and GERMAN RESTAURANT

Hallo!

Also nächste Woche beginnen die Ferien. Echt krass wie schnell es einfach geht, jetzt haben wir schon fast Osterferien... Und ich habe noch 92 Tage bis ich nach Hause fliege!? Wo ist die Zeit geblieben? Leider habe ich nichts für die Ferien geplant. Also werde ich nur ein bisschen was mit meinen Freunden unternehmen. Aber Prom steht vor der Tür! In ungefähr 4 Wochen! Ich freue mich so. Für alle die nicht wissen was Prom ist: Tanzball aber sehr formell wo die Mädchen alle Abendkleider an haben und die Jungs alle im Anzug kommen. Unser Prom wird in einem Resort sein😍 also sehr Nobel ;) hier in AZ ist es so schön warm. Ich habe gar keine Lust auf Deutschland mit den kalten Temperaturen... Hier sind es so 28 Grad meistens und immer Sonne, das ganze Jahr über! Ich glaube das kälteste war bisher 8 grad im Dezember...wir waren letztes Wochenende in Phoenix und da bin ich dann in ein deutsches Restaurant gegangen. Ihr könnt Euch nicht vorstellen, wie toll es war wieder ein Schnitzel zu essen! (Außer ihr seid selber ATS) Naja. Ich melde mich dann wieder mit Prom Bildern! 

Only 4 months left...my feelings

Hello guys from all around the world! I can't believe that I'm only having 4 months left ... What? The time went by way too fast and it's slightly becoming closer to the end. I don't wanna leave in 4 months! I miss my family and friends from Germany and etc but I'm enjoying my life, and living my live to its fullest because I'm only having this chance once in my life! BUT I'm thinking about coming back. Not temporary, forever. Maybe for college, maybe for a job, maybe maybe maybe. But first I gotta go back to Germany and finish school (Abitur) and then we'll see. Prom is coming up in 2 months (I'm super excited) and May will be my last month of school. I'm going back to Europe June but I'll be traveling around and go back to my German school in September. Thought I'd fill you guys in about what's going on. See y'all

Wie ist High School so?? "High School Musical?"

Hallo!! Ich habe von meinen deutschen Freunden viele Fragen zur Amerikanischen High School bekommen. Und hier sind meine Antworten. PS dieser Text basiert auf meinen Erfahrungen. Natürlich kann das bei jedem anders sein.

Amerikanische High Schools sind nicht wie in Filmen, nein nicht wie "High School Musical". Es gibt viele Gemeinsamkeiten dennoch auch Unterschiede wie zum Beispiel dass die Schüler zu den Lehrern laufen und nicht die Lehrern zu den Schülern. Jeder Lehrer hat seinen eigenen Raum und ich muss sagen am Anfang fand ich dieses System ein bisschen gewöhnungsbedürftig aber jetzt finde ich es im Endeffekt besser weil man bei anderen Lehrern mit anderen Klassen zusammen ist weil es "Individualität" gibt. Zum Beispiel habe ich in meiner Geschichtsklasse andere Leute als in meiner Mathe klasse. In Deutschland ist es so dass ich mit den gleichen Leuten die selben Lehrer habe bis auf 1/2 Fächer. Außerdem kann man in Amerika wenn einem ein Lehrer nicht gefällt zu einem anderen wechseln indem man zum Student Counselor geht. Und glaubt mir das passiert ziemlich oft und ich habe auch schon meinen Englisch Lehrer gewechselt. Ich finde das total super weil in Deutschland wenn ich da einen schlechten Mathelehrer erwische, tja, Pech für mich. Sitze trotzdem mit ihm für mindestens ein Jahr fest. Dann das nächste: Spaß! In Ami Schulen gibt es super viele Fun Aktivitäten. Es fängt an mit Sport wie Bbl, Tennis, Schwimmen, Boxen, Volleyball, Fußball und geht bis zu "Early Childhood" wo man lernt wie man mit kleinen Kindern umgehen kann, JTECH Klassen wie man lernt eine Krankenschwester zu werden, " Construction" wie man ein Haus baut oder JROTC wo man sich auf das Millitär vorbereiten kann. Meine Klassen sind Mathe, History, English, Spanish, Biologie und TA. TA steht für Teachers Aide und ich bin in einem Gebäude wo ich dem Sekretariat helfe mit Sachen ausliefern wie Briefe und so weiter an Schülern. Also wandere ich herum zu Klassen und gebe Briefe oder was auch immer ab. Warum ich das gewählt habe? Ich habe letztes Semester eine Klasse gewählt die ich nicht mehr mochte und habe diese dann abgewählt und musste ein neues Fach finden und dann hatte mich eine Lehrerin gefragt ob ich ihr nicht helfen wollen würde. Genug zu den Klassen. Jemand meiner Freunde meine Snapchat Story gesehen mit "Spirit Assembly"? Hier genauere Infos. Spirit Assemblies sind 4 mal im Schuljahr und die ganze Schule kommt in die Sporthalle und dann wird der Schulspirit gestärkt. Es werden lustige Spiele gespielt, wichtige Infos angekündigt, die Cheerleader tanzen und die Musik ist laut. Glaubt mir Spirit Assemblies sind so toll! 

Naja gibt es auch schlechte Seiten des Schulsystems? Ja!

Wenn man 3 mal zu spät kommt muss man 2 Stunden nachsitzen. (Ist mir noch nie passiert)

Wenn man mehr als 18 Tage nicht da war kriegt man keinen Credit für diese Klasse und man muss zur Summer School

College kosten sind zwischen 15.000 bis mehrere Hundert tausend Dollars. In Deutschland müssen wir dafür nicht bezahlen 👍

WELCOME 2016

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello guys!
I decided to post more in future and so here we go!:)
Christmas was awesome to celebrate in the US and I had so much fun! We didn't have snow because well I'm in Arizona... but it's freezing since December! Ok "freezing" isn't maybe the right word but it's cold.. We sometimes have about 15 degrees Celsius like mostly but the mornings are super cold because I don't know if you guys know that but Arizona is basically a desert and it gets cold at night. I think the coldest I've seen so far were negative 5 degrees. Anyway, I leave my house early for the school and it's cold so I'm wearing like a thick jacket and then after school it's too warm to wear it and I have to carry them with me everywhere. I know it's weird because like in Germany (just my opinion) it's more like the temperature stays the whole day as in the morning maybe it's 1 or 2 degrees different but in AZ a day could be like: 5AM -5 degrees Celsius and 1PM 15 degrees. It's annoying tho but well ;). I hope you all had a great start into 2016! My new year was pretty boring cause it's not a big deal in the US and I just stayed home with my family. My heart broke when I've seen all my German friends snapchat stories haha... I can't believe I'm already over 150 days in AZ.. the time goes by so fast. A lot people ask me if I miss my family and if I'm excited to go back. So here's my answer. It's a mixed feeling. I love it here so much and I'd prefer America for living but I DO miss my friends from back home and my family. And I'm looking forward to see all my friends and family again! But then I realize how much I'm gonna miss my second life here. I'll miss my friends, food, going to American theatres and everything. So it's really hard to say how I feel about going back home cause like now..? I have a second home a second life on the other side of AZ and I will always miss my second life in AZ. But anyway! I have approximately 150 days left and I will do the best out of it! I will try to post more the next weeks.. Update! 10-26-15

hi guys I'm back. I know I didn't post anything in a while but I'm pretty busy here.! I'm already 3 months here and honestly - it doesn't feel like it. It feels like maybe a couple weeks but never like 3 months. A lot happened. I went to California last month and it was just awesome. I visited the Disneyland in Los Angeles and San Diego. I'm so thankful to had the opportunity to go there! And then last week was homecoming week which was pretty hyped. For all those people who don't know what it is it is a spirit week and you dress everyday different. Like a theme. Today is my birthday and I was thinking about how lucky I have to be to celebrate my birthday here. 1 year ago I never expect that that would actually happens. And that reminds me of that we should all try to do the best in our life. Life doesn't mean to live in one place. I learned and experienced so much since I am here and honestly to those who think you understand it but not doing an exchange... I am sorry you won't understand that. I thought I would know what it will be before I went to the U.S. and no. Just no. And the time goes by so fast and I'm trying to enjoy every day cause I know there will be the day when I have to say good bye to my second home and I already know this is going to be so hard. Of course - I miss my family! But I know I'm going to see them again. I have 200 days left and it might sound a lot but it won't be enough. Especially my last 100 days in Germany went by so fast and I wish I would have enjoyed them more than I did. School is ok but tiring. I get a lot homework every day and I honestly thought High School would be better than it is. Maybe I had to high expectations but I don't know. The weather in Arizona is basically perfect. We get still nice and warm temperatures in the 20-30 Celsius degrees. I'm so excited for thanksgiving and Christmas because it's almost there. I'm going to try to post more on this blog but I can't promise anything. Anyways, I am good and hopefully you liked this short post!
